Grate Steak and Eggs

Steak n Egg has become somewhat of Christmas Eve tradition here at the GrillGrate HQ. It is the perfect way to celebrate the Christmas holiday whether you’re working or not.

Ingredients

Servings

Ribeye Steak

2

Eggs

1

cups

Frozen Shredded Hash Browns

1

tbsp

Butter

salt and pepper OR your favorite steak seasoning

Duck Fat Spray or Olive Oil Spray

Gear:

GrillGrates preheated to 600 degrees F

Grate Griddle preheated to 400 degrees F

Directions

Step 1

Remove steak from refrigerator and let it come up to room temp

Step 2

Season Steaks liberally and place on a hot grill.

Step 3

Melt butter on the griddle; add hash browns

Step 4

After 2 minutes lift and turn steak 45 degrees and press

Step 5

Flip the hash browns

Step 6

After another 2 minutes, flip the steak

Step 7

Move the hash browns to the back of the griddle; lowering heat if needed

Step 8

Spray the griddle with Duck Fat Spray or Olive Oil Spray

Step 9

Crack your eggs be sure to give a few inches at the front and sides incase the eggs decide to run.

Step 10

After another 2 minutes lift and turn the steak, pressing lightly, one last time

Step 11

Flip the eggs once they are set

Step 12

Cook eggs to your specified doneness

Step 13

Start checking steak internal temperature for desired doneness

Step 14

In a perfect world the eggs will be set and still have a runny yolk, the steak will be ready and the hash browns perfectly browned. Remove to serving plate and enjoy immediately.
