A touch to long
Posted by Frank on Sep 24th 2018
This is a wonderful product but the only thing I did not like was that you can't shut the hood entirely. So anyone who buys these should be aware that they are cut to long. I have tried both with and without existing grates, still doesn't shut properly. All in all still a great product.
Best grill product - EVER!

I now have Grill Grates as replacements on all of my grills, including a ceramic "egg". These have saved me money on propane and charcoal, as the Grill Grates heat up better and require less source heat. These are hands down the best product on the market for grilling.
Best investment grill owners can make..

I never write reviews but I need to give credit where due..I am always skeptical with the products I purchase and these grates were no different..I decided to purchase an expensive grill..Its a weber Gen II propane.. 8ve always had issues with gas grills because they all flame up and also have the dreaded cold/hot spots.. With grillgrates, that problem doesn't exists no matter where on the grate u cook it's all even heat they leave perfect sear Mark's and hold the heat as well. Customer service is very helpful shipping is fast, and packaging is also on point..I purchased the replacement grates and they fit as good as the factory grates..I would def advise purchasing the cleaning brush bc it fits perfect in the valleys..Also be sure to remember the surface temp of grates runs hotter than the air in the grill.. That being said I would recommend an infrared surface thermometer..You cant go wrong with this product, I've always believed in the saying "you get what you pay for".I def would spend twice what I did on them..
Brad here- Kevin you can write copy for our marketing department! Enjoy that new Genesis II it is the latest in a long line of great gassers from Weber! Thanks again for calling out our customer service too- we want people to call thats why our phone # is all over our site! GrillGrate, Eat Well!
REQUIRED UPGRADE FOR ANY GRILL

Grill grates are awesome! Before buying I read quite a few reviews on the web, because I had never heard of them and was skeptical. It was clear in almost every review I could find that Grill Grates would enhance my grilling experience - even on a Weber BBQ.
Now that I've actually used them, I agree they are an excellent addition!
It takes a few times to adjust your heat and maybe your cooking style a little, but it's easy to figure out.
I keep (3) of the grates "griddle side up" and (2) of the grates "rail side up" on my new Weber Genesis E-310. The ability to "pan fry" and produce a nice Maillard effect on the griddle side for asparagus, other vegetables, burgers, etc. adds a whole new dimension to what you can do on your grill.
It was obvious after the first meal that these were great. After cooking several meals I was 100% all in. Remember, you have to heat a little differently and season/clean a little differently at the start, but it soon becomes clear that you shouldn't own a BBQ without Grill Grates.
Having said that, for some reason it was several weeks before we finally grilled some skin-on chicken breasts on the rail side. OMG - wait until you grill chicken breasts! Tender, juicy, 1000% better than any other grill or oven cooked chicken breasts! No flare ups, and significantly more tender.
A little pricey in my opinion, but I wouldn't be without them now.
GrillGrates is no doubt one of the best upgrades you can do to your BBQ.

I purchased GrillGrates for my new Weber Genesis II E-310 grill. The grill came with heavy duty porcelain/cast iron grates; although I wanted to start grilling right away I waited for the GrillGrates to arrive. When I received them they were well packaged and came with the GrateTool which is perfectly designed for flipping and cleaning the channels. The GrillGrates fit perfectly. There are 5 panels in this set and I turned 2 of them over to get a griddle type surface. Next was seasoning them so I checked out the GrillGrates videos on how to do this. After a few cooks the GrillGrates were now blackened and had a non-stick coating. Also on the website was information stating that the GrillGrates run hotter than normal grates upwards of 200-250F, Now I cook at medium to low heat settings which saves fuel. Do yourself a favour and purchase some GrillGrates as you'll be totally satisfied with your decision.

Great Grates, but...

I love GrillGrates. I've recommended them to my friends. I had them in my old Weber I bought replacements for the Genesis II before it even arrived. I was disappointed to see the gap left on the side after installing the new grates. I'll still use them. I'll just have to be careful on the side.
What a "Grate" Invention
Posted by beezer on Oct 30th 2017
I replaced the grates on a brand new Weber Genesis II after only 1 cook on the original grates. Of the 5 pcs. I installed the left 3 pcs. the normal way and the right 2 pcs. upside down. This broke the continuity for zone cooking. I did the steaks on the ridges and sauteed onions and mushrooms on the upside down side. What a "grate" meal. I have also seared a steak on the upside down pcs. and it does a total sear there.
I am very happy with my purchase. Kudos to Brad for not only coming up with fthis idea but also for taking the initiative to develop and distribute such a fine product.
Perfect Cooking and fit!

I love my Grill Grates but I was disappointed I was not offered 10% off as a returning customer. That is not fair.
- Michael here with GrillGrate, we would be glad to get you that 10% off discount.
Used Grill Grates to replace the grates on my beefeater built in grill
Posted by Harry from Wolfforth Tx. on Aug 7th 2017
I needed to replace the grates on my beefeater built in gas grill because they started rusting. Grill grates fit my grill perfectly. So far they are a fantastic product. The grates clean so easily that it has cut the amount of time that it normally takes me to prepare the grill for grilling in half. I use a hickory wooden paddle that I run over the grill grates while it is hot which creates perfect cleaning grooves in my paddle which then enables me to very quickly clean the tops and sides of the grill grates without having to use any wire brushes etc. So far everything that I have grilled has come out perfectly. These grates are one of the best products that I have ever purchased and for my money these worth every penny that I paid for them.
