Improves any gas grill

I use the flat side as an outdoor griddle almost exclusively. It puts such a nice browning on meat (grill marks are just psychological tricks, you want it all brown, mmmmm). The cooking temperatures of the griddle side are so consistent on the Spirit 300 series measured with an IR thermometer (LLL=350, MMM=450, HHH=550). It's not quite as greasy as a normal griddle as the holes allow some excess fat to drip away, but you don't need to use much fat anyway because after a few uses the griddle becomes really slick (like if you're not careful when flipping, the food will slide across the surface like a hockey puck on ice). I use fin side up for holding wood pellets for indirect heat, but food doesn't touch that side of the grates (I use a stainless cooling rack suspended between 2 panels of GrillGrates on the sides of the fire box so plenty of hot air can circulate in the dome - leaving all/most of the grates in place blocks a lot of the heat from reaching the dome). These really improve gas grills, I can't recommend them enough. I honestly wouldn't bother with GrillGrates for most charcoal grill applications with the exception of wanting to cook really fatty stuff right over the coals and wanting GrillGrates to block the grease fires (hot charcoal can do plenty of browning through a stainless wire grill if you move the meat around a bit but GrillGrates could save fatty burgers or chicken from flame-ups).
Why didn't I know sooner

Why didn't I know about these sooner. I recently rebuilt my 15 year old Weber Genesis B and added the Grill Grates. After probably 10 uses I am hooked. EVERYTHING I cook now tastes better than before. No flare ups. Even cooking area. There is not one single negative and I highly recommend them to everyone I talk to.

We bought the grill grates to replace the grates that came with our Webex 320 grill. The grill grates fit perfectly (there is a 1-2" space on the side, and that's fine, we wouldn't put anything to grill right against the side anyway). We were a little skeptical about replacing the Webex grates - afterall, they are pretty good to start with. But I have to say, the grill grates are far superior - first, it catches all liquid and fats from going down, second, it's much easier to clean, and third, the double side (flat/ ridges) is perfect for any type of grilling. The quality of the grill grates is very very good, we are very happy with our purchase.

Used for the first time and love these grates. Perfect grill marks and perfect steaks.
Top of The Mark

Just tried it last night with a marinated flat-iron steak. Wonderful grill marks. Cooked much better than the original grates. Sparked new life into my Weber Genesis. I will have to check into grill replacement for my Trager.
Why did I wait

I had looked at Grill Grates for a previous gas grill which I disliked due to temperature control issues and flareups. I didn't want to spend the money on that grill. What a mistake I made then. These grills have been a huge change for my new Weber. They allow me to grill with lower heat and I can safely leave chicken with skin, grilling and leave to prepare the rest of the meal. The grill marks are terrific too. Don't procrastinate any longer and do yourself a favor. Your family and friends will appreciate it.
Should Have Replaced Earlier

All I can say is simply "WOW". I truly wished that I had replaced my cast iron grates for my 2003 Weber Genesis Silver B propane grill many years ago. I just cooked the best medium ribeye steak with no flair ups and without a sous vide device to a perfection! The second item that I cooked were teriyaki pork chops for my daughter's birthday party without any flare ups which I have to fight with each time I grill these due to the sugar in my marinade - was not even an issue and the teriyaki flavor was more evident with the grill grates. Ordering was easy and quick, told them I wanted to replace the grates on my grill, told them what the grill was and they responded the same day to tell me which set to purchase - best grill purchase replacement part that I have ever bought for my grills, hands down.

Love these grates

I really love these grates and I think they will last a long time. I love how they cook and I love the fact they won't rust. I've used them 3 times and I am looking forward to more cooking on the grill.
Even Heat all the Way Through

I have cook only once since receiving my Grill Grates and hand picked two sirloin steaks of the same size. Preheated grill and through them on. Cooked at same temp and for the same time and they both turned out perfectly medium rare with no burning or flare ups. Couldn't be happier and the whole family said it was the best tasting London broil they've had in a long time. Thank you for making my life so much easier. The only thing I would want is about 3/4-1 in wider to cover the entire surface.
