This pizza is fabulously healthier by substituting ground turkey with fennel and very thinly sliced pepperoni. This eliminated ALL the oily grease and the flavor was authentic of loaded pizza! This pizza will not leave you feeling loaded or full. Natalie hit the mark on this one and you’ll see why when you see the ingredients- we really should name this pizza the Fresh and Healthy Pizza!
TWO Packages of MamaMary’s Thin and Crispy Crust = 4 Pizzas
One jar pizza sauce or marinara sauce
1 lb FRESH Sliced Mozzarella
2 Cups Shredded Mozzerella
10 SLICES per pizza= 40 SLICES of Extra Thin LARGE Pepperoni
2 lbs Ground Turkey
2-3 Tablespoons of Fennel Seeds
Red and Yellow Peppers
Purple and Regular Onions
Baby Bellas and Regular Mushrooms
Garlic in the shell
Pre-cook turkey adding fennel seeds
ROAST on the grill or in the oven a medley of the Yellow and Red Peppers, Purple and Regular Onions and Garlic in shell 425F for 30 minutes.
Squeeze garlic out of shell after roasting. Discard garlic shell
Building the Healthiest and Heartiest Pizza Ever!
Lightly oil the bottom of the MamaMarys crust for added crispness
Spread Pizza sauce
Add Mozzarella slices
Sprinkle Ground Turkey
Add Roasted Vegetable Medly
Cover with thin slices of (large) pepperoni
Add uncooked mushroooms
Top with shredded mozzarella
Grilling Instructions: 15 Minutes on LOW- try to keep GrillGrates between 350-400F
Slide Pizza onto GrillGrates (2 at a time if you have FOUR GrillGrates)
Cover and wait 5 minutes
Peek under bottom to see searing on the crust. GOLDEN BROWN marks is the goal.
TWIST Pizza 1/4 way around - close lid
10 Minutes judge and turn again- if you are running hot- the marks will be black, take off the grill sooner.
Keeping Grill Temps under 400F will prevent the crust from blackening AND gives you all the time you need to grill a fabulous pizza!
