Grilled Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes are another root vegetable that seems to yield its best flavor when grilled.  Sweet potatoes can be challenging since the sugar content is so high it is important not to blacken the outside too much.  GrillGrates provide the extra protection to make grilling sweet potatoes picture perfect.


1 Sweet Potato per person
Olive oil


Peel skin
Slice thick 1/2” slices to create thick disks
Coat with olive oil in a bowl or zip loc
Crack pepper

Grilling Sweet Potatoes with GrillGrate:

Grill temps below 450F are important to not blacken the exterior of the Sweet Potato
Judge sear marks (too black = too hot) to achieve best searing without charing
Grill for 15-20 minutes turning ever 4-5 minutes.
Remove when soft
Cover with foil to retain heat and moisture and they’ll wait while you finish grilling.
