Replacement GrillGrateSet for Weber Genesis® Models from 2007-2016
(does not fit Newer Genesis II models)
GrillGrates with the GrateTool are the ultimate upgrade to your Weber Genesis®. GrillGrates are reversible interlocking panels, giving you two grilling surfaces; rails up or on the flat side. GrillGrates tame flare-ups and even out the hot and cool spots common with all gas grills. This gives you even, stable temperatures across the cooking surface. This set is a drop-in replacement for the stock Genesis® grates. This set will also fit the Summit® 420 and 470 and many other large gas grills. Constructed from hard anodized aluminum, GrillGrates will never rust. Made in the USA. The GrateTool is made in China.

GGs for Genesis 300
Posted by Robert Turkel on Jun 12th 2018
I have used the grates twice since they replaced my original Weber grates, and, so far I am very pleased with them.
The steaks I have done came out nicely done with great grillmarks and (using my trusty Thermopen) a perfect medium rare.
I am still in a learning curve regarding maintaining the grates.
I have a suggestion for the GrillGrates that I think would make them easier to use on a gas grill that does not have a working "igniter". If each panel had one hole located midways that was bigger (like two holes combined) it would make it easier to use a butane lighter to light the gas. This would make it unnecessary to lift the grates ( and have to re-attach one or more) when lighting the burners on the Genesis 300.
Also, I ordered a set of GrillGrates for my Weber GoAnywares grill, and, do not understand why you make us buy the extra spatula (I know-the handle is shorter! to fit inside the little Weber). You should make this an option and price the grates with and without the spatula! (please Email me about this as your telephone support was not helpful when I tried to order just the GrillGrates without the spatula for the little Weber.)!
Nice replacement for cast iron

Even though these grates are a bit pricey, I feel it has been worth every cent. Great (grate) grill marks and an even temperature across the entire grill. I have yet to flip them over and use them as a flat top, but I am looking forward to doing so. Reduced flareups are nice as well. I hope they hold up as well as my Weber. The original cast iron grates have hit the trash can since this acquisition with no regrets.

Just installed my new grates and decided to try some pork medallions. Grill marks looked great, but you have to be careful with these grates.... they run much warmer than expected. Possibly over-cooked the meat a bit. This will take a little to get used to.
Once the grill is warmed to cooking temp I noticed that i don't get the "heat rush" when I open my grill. But it was certainly up to cooking temp.
I am planning on steaks this weekend and can't wait!!
So far so good

I replaced the cast iron grates on my weber. (I also replaced the burner drip guards with stainless ones). Cooked 4 burgers, and they were great, Next day 2 steaks. I did the reverse sear method, but had overcooked a little on the pre sear. They were still juicy though. Will need to experiment more.
flare-ups gone/ best searing

got for Weber Genesis, flare-ups are gone and it is great for searing. Way better than the weber
Wish the pieces were welded together

I used the channels up for most foods, but for steaks getting the whole side browned to add flavor is much more important than grill lines. The professional steak house I go browns well both sides.
I wish the 5 pieces were welded together so I could easily flip the thing over. Very nasty using my fingers to flip it over. The pieces all fall apart and have to be put together again. A messy job when they are not new! I went to my local welder and he soldered the pieces together. Works great now! Great for cooking bacon now because you don't burn everything with flare ups.

These work great to finish my Sous Vide cooks, on the Genesis. Don't have to fire up the Big Green egg anymore, to get the high heat, and it leaves some pretty cool grill marks.
Great cooking surface

Great for the cooking. No blame-ups, quicker cooking, beautiful grill marks. It is just about the cleaning. The troughs where two plates connect (no bottom holes) get filled with greasy debris and there is no where for it to go. The plates fit so snugly at front and back it can't fall through. I've used paper towels to pull it out, but not much fun. Maybe I should have just bought a couple plates and put on top of old grids instead of replacing.
Hi Jerry, The hinge is a build up area- but it will carbon up and scrape off pretty easily. We introduced a simple scraper for that- but its also just as easy to use the GrateTool to push the debris to the back. Every few weeks I lift and dump any buildup. Grill on!
Grill Grates Live Up to Their Reviews
Posted by Warren on Jul 4th 2017
Purchased grill grates to replace decaying original grates in my Weber Genesis. Chose these after checking both video and written reviews. Being a bit of a techy type I liked the concept of the aluminum material and design. I have used them several times including some rib-eye steaks to season them as instructed. They are living up to the positive reviews.
everything is better

I can't believe a product like these Grill Grates have changed my grilling experience. I have grilled chicken, hamburgers and rib eye steaks with amazing results! (great flavor and juicy.) What really blew my mind was grilling thick sliced bacon without a single flare up! I got the grate set for my Weber Genesis E and I did the spatchcocked chicken. I could not believe I did not have to babysit my grill, while cooking. The skin on the chicken was golden brown with the great sear marks. If you have a Genesis grill, do yourself a favor and replace your cast iron grates with the Grill Grate replacement set.
