GrillGrates turn pellet smokers into pellet grills. They trap and concentrate heat and conduct it up the rails for great searing while the valleys sizzle juices for added flavor. GrillGrates for the Camp Chef Sear Box are meant to replace the existing grates and typically add 100 degrees or more at the grate surface. Every set comes with a GrateTool which is part fork, part spatula that fits between the rails to get under your food and lift it without scraping.

Perfect Professional looking Sear Marks!
Posted by Joey on Aug 15th 2020
Noticed all the pitmasters and SCA champions on YouTube use your GrillGrates. I figure they would know a thing or two on grilling a piece of meat. They were spot on! On my Camp Chef sear box, the grates delivered the perfect sear every single time I used it! I’m now thinking of refurbishing my old Webber spirit gas grill as well. Highly recommended!
Not Complete Anymore..

They removed 25% of the grill grate surface to save some bucks.. Their excuse? Better heat dissipation to avoid warping.. Never was an issue on the previous version that covered the entire surface.
Funny they didn't lower the price.. Getting less for the same price.
This review won't even likely make it onto the page. But if somehow it does.. Just know that is what you are getting. Very disappointing.
HI Hank- Brad here- we removed one rail so it went from 11 rails to 10. BIG saving in cost and two less joints. The original solution was one panel and 3 gap panels. Now 2 panels 1 hinge. I was never happy with the original set cost or set up. Remember you have 90 days to return them too.
Perfect Sear Marks

I followed the instructions on seasoning the grates. I turned my sear box to low to cook some hamburgers. This was the first time I did not have burnt hockey pucks coming off that grill box. These hamburgers were cooked all the way through and they came out tender, with awesome looking sear markings. I also didn't have any flare ups. This was a first for me because, on the old grate that was all it did, was flare up. This was an awesome find!

These are awesome. Sears like the devil while saving your carbon footprint lol. No for sure they get hot as hell and do a great job with less gas.

Sear Box Good, could be better

Overall, the Sear Box is a very good addition to my pellet grill. Just 2 suggestions - have a natural gas conversion kit. I am using natural gas now and it is OK but I am not getting the full potential out of the sear box. I refuse to deal with propane again. Also, the gas line should be pointing down so the grill can be stored flush against a wall. Otherwise, the sear box is an excellent product.
