GrillGrates are a must-have accessory for your gas grill. Whether you sit them on top of your current grates, or use them to replace your factory grates, GrillGrates will make your old gas grill better than new. Made of hard anodized aluminum, they never rust. GrillGrates are reversible, interlocking panels, giving you two grill surfaces in one. Even out those hot and cold spots with GrillGrates and produce juicier, more flavorful food. GrillGrates make everyone a better, faster, more confident cook. The Hard Anodized Aluminum and Raised Rail design promote conductivity and control for juicier, more flavorful food. Steakhouse quality sear marks, guaranteed! Here’s why:

  • Non-stick Hard Anodized Aluminum Interlocking Panels
  • Two-in-One Surface; Rails Side Up for Traditional Grilling & Flat Side for Flat Top Griddling
  • Rust Resistant Material

  • Faster cooking
  • Simpler grilling with better results
  • Reduced flare-ups
  • Versatility
  • Easy to use and clean
  • Light and transportable

Your Grill, But Better. As opposed to traditional grill surfaces that merely just hold the food above the heat source, GrillGrates concentrate heat through the patented raised rail design cooking food faster and more evenly. GrillGrate’s air flow vents and flat side work together to trap grease, prevent charring, and block those pesky flare-ups that tend to engulf and dry out food. When we say better, juicier food every time – we mean it! It is central to the innovative design of this grate. The sizzling-hot valleys vaporize drippings and juices, retaining moisture and enhancing flavor.

BONUS: Use GrillGrates rails up for traditional grilling, or flip them over for masterful flat top griddling. When you're done cooking on GrillGrates, cleaning your grill surface is easier than ever.

Note: While we recommend replacing grates on gas grills for maximum fuel efficiency, you can also use GrillGrates on top of your existing grates.

Never burn a steak again. The flame shield eliminates flare-ups. And the raised rails deliver the perfect sear.

GrillGrates can be configured to your needs. Create independent heat zones by separating the grates. Even flip over for an instant griddle!

Made from anodized aluminum, these grates will never rust out. When properly seasoned, they are non-stick and easy to clean.

I live in Iowa and grill year round. Recently a Derecho (inland hurricane) destroyed my Old Weber Genesis. My new Weber Genesis came with cast iron grates. The old one had stainless steel. When researching the price of stainless steel grates I came across GrillGrates. After reading several reviews and watching some amazing videos I was skeptical but figured what the heck.
When they arrived I was very impressed with the construction. I grilled a few burgers and steaks. Ribeyes with no Flare ups, 85% lean ground beef, no problem. Just tried chicken breasts, Nothing but salt pepper and juicy yum. You couldn’t get better grill marks even if you drew them with a marker.

I’ve had my grillgrates for almost a year and they’re awesome. Not much more needs to be said about their performance. If you’ve done your research you’ll know that these are fantastic for uniform heat and creating perfect grill marks.

BUT when I use them with my Weber Genesis II (for which my set is designed) the lid won’t fully close once they’re hot. At low temps they fit perfectly, but after about 500 degrees the cook box lid starts scraping against the grates and won’t fully close. It nearly closes, but not completely. This happens every time I cook steaks and need the grill piping hot. It makes cooking times unreliable, especially on cold days when the outside air creeps under the lid. I live in Canada and grill year round, so this is a particular problem for me that I didn’t struggle with using traditional grates. If these grates were designed to flatten at the ends it would eliminate the problem.

All in all the product is great and deserves your money. Just be aware that the grates expand at high temps and may prevent your grill from fully closing due to their design.
David- very surprised to hear this we’ve sold possibly a thousand or more sets. I am wondering if our size may be a bit long and we missed that? Also one thing to double check to is the shelf area in the back will get build up and that will start to nose the GG forward a bit? OR the grill is slightly off spec. I am private messaging you as well but want folks to see my reply. Brad

Took a BBQ class from Harry Soo and he introduced the Grill Grates to the class. Picked up a set and have been using them for a number of years. I just purchased the grates for my Weber Genesis. Great fit and as always, works extremely well.
Harry Soo is one of the classiest guys in our industry. You are lucky to be able to attend his class! #grillgrateful
