All the flavors of a plate of hot wings are represented in this unique turkey burger recipe. Carrots, celery, hot wing sauce and blue cheese crumbles all find their way into unassuming ground turkey.

Ingredients

Servings

For the turkey burgers

1 pound of ground turkey

1/3 cup hot wing sauce

1/3 cup blue cheese crumbles

2 tablespoons minced carrot

2 tablespoons minced celery

1 teaspoon salt

5-6 grinds black pepper

1 egg, beaten

1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs

For the carrot slaw

3 carrots, peeled and shredded

1/3 cup blue cheese dressing

1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

5-6 grinds black pepper

To Finish

4 burger buns

4 slices vine ripe tomatoes

4 nice pieces green leaf lettuce

Directions

Step 1

In a metal mixing bowl combine all of the ingredients for the turkey burger and mix well. Cover bowl and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

Step 2

In a separate bowl combine all the ingredients for the slaw, mix well and cover. Leave slaw at room temperature so the flavors have a chance to develop.

Step 3

Preheat grill and GrillGrates to 400F. Remove burger mixture from the refrigerator and form 4 patties. Place the burgers on a preheated, seasoned GrillGrate and close the lid. After two minutes lift and twist the burgers 90 degrees. After another two minutes flip the burgers and close the lid again. Allow burgers to cook for two more minutes or until the internal temperature of the turkey burger is at least 170F. Remove burgers from grill.

Step 4

To assemble- place one turkey burger on each bun and top with carrot slaw, lettuce and tomato.
