A really great product

Love the tongs, the gloves, and valley brush. The large four finger spatula had a bent finger. I called Grille Grate and spoke to a very knowledgeable woman who has shipped a replacement to me. She told me that when the silver aluminum grates turn a dark grey color, after several uses, the grilling gets even simpler. We shall see!

I’ve received and used my new Grill Grates just once. I removed my original Weber Spirit 310 grates and scraped away every internal grilling deposit I’d made over the last year; then I placed the Grill Grates where the old cast iron grates were. A perfect fit that provides air circulation from both right and left. I fired up the grill to about 400 degrees, cut a whole onion in half and, using the new Grill Grate gloves, I wiped the tops of the Grate rails for about 3 minutes, until I could see that the onion discolored the rail tops. I had checked the rail top temp with an instant read thermometer. Wow! A 400 degree grill temp produced just over 500 degree rail tops! Now! I placed two beautiful 1-1/4” thick NY Strip Steaks, previously prepared, onto the rails at a 45 degree angle. I closed the lid and after about 1-1/2 minutes I rotated the steaks 90 degrees. About 1-1/2 minutes later I flipped the steaks over and witnessed the most perfect grill sear-marks I’ve ever created. After repeating the grill process on the back side, the internal temp was 230 degrees. We cut into the best looking medium rare steaks ever! I’m completely sold! Now to use the flat plate side for some veggies.

Wish you would make grates that were cured to go on the outside perimeter of the Weber 22"charcoal grill. Leaving the center open for my vortex.

I have been pleasantly surprised by every item I have purchased from GrillGrates. The grates have made a huge difference in the flavor of any product, and ALL their utensils make life easier. Frankly, I am surprised that I had not heard about their products earlier. If you want to grill, smoke, etc. on any type of outdoor product, they can make it better.
