NO MORE CHARRED RIBEYES
Posted by Nick on Mar 14th 2019
Started by covering 2/3 of my 6 burner Weber with Grill Grate. Didn't take long to fall in love with my Grill Grates so I purchased the additional 1/3 so my entire grill is Grill Grate covered. It is difficult to get an even temperature on such a large grill but the Grill Grates completely solved that problem. Even temperature throughout the grilling surface! I no longer have to stand by the grill with a water spray bottle to douse flare ups while grilling high fat meats such as rib eye steaks. Perfect grill marks every time and no more charred food.
I used this and 2 18.5" panels for my portable grill.

With this filler my portable grill is covered perfectly even though I had to trim off less than an inch on the end, so the grill lid would close. I used my carbide blade on my chop saw, worked great!

Work very nicely to complete my grill surface. I've never had a problem with the grill grate system. The only item I've had trouble with is the instant read thermometer. Seems to jump around with temperatures varying 10-20 degrees.
Brad here- Instant reads are just that- instant- I use a couple of reads to be certain and test each piece of food in sequence to get overall feel of cook process.

Got the gap panel to go with my Weber Genesis 1100 (25+ years old) which I bought a four panel set of grill grates 2 years ago for. This fills the gap nicely, but not all the way. I had to buy a 1.5" wide piece of aluminum stock to completely fill the gap. Now my grill has no gaps and has more even heating. Lower left part of my grill used to be 100 degrees different than the upper right. Now those two zones are within 50 degrees. I'll take it.
Perfect for filling in that gap !

I recently purchased a new-to-market M-Grills/Texas C4 Portable Grill. Up front, I'll tell you this is a SMALL grill, but is perfect for what it's designed for. I have 8 other grills (last count), ALL of which are outfitted with Grill Grates, and I wanted a set for this little Mini grill as well. So, I ordered a full-size 12" panel as well as this 12" Gap panel for the full 11.5" x 6.75" grilling area I needed to cover. The one full-size panel just wouldn't be enough, and a set of two would be overkill. This Gap panel fit in just about perfectly, with only minimal trimming needed for length and width to create the maximum dimensions I needed for this grill. I cut .5" off the length, and removed the interlocking area on both outer edges of the unit when pieced together. This made for a perfect fit, and works beautifully !
Side note #1 - Before this Gap panel came out, I did cut my own from full-size panels... this option makes it SO much easier now to fill in any gaps on your grill.
Side note #2 - Although I've always cut my own, Grill Grates does offer a custom cutting service (length only, not width) if needed. If length were my only concern here, I would have had them cut mine.
Side note #3 - Brad, you might consider offering a custom set for the C4 Portable Grill, like you do for the Weber Go Anywhere and others.
Long story short, the Gap panel definitely fills a niche, and is much easier to utilize than having to cut your own from a full-size panel. If you're like me, I don't like having open areas on my grill, which are just wasted space - fill 'em up ! This isn't my first, and certainly won't be my last Grill Grate purchase ... I LOVE THEM !
Adapts from kettle to Q grill

I discovered that I could use the grill grate, minus the center panel, from my 22" kettle on my Weber Q200 gas grill. However, I lost some cooking area in the process. I ordered a 20" gap panel to make up for lost cooking space. This solved my problem in an economical manner.
Great but hard to clean

Fits my Weber Sumit great. Great grill marks ffrom the grid. Hard to clean. Come up with a brush like the spatula and you get 5 plus-
Brad here- I wish you put your name here... We have that brush and a few others- you'll see it in our Welcome Series emails too.
