I removed two sections of my grillgrates and installed the griddle and a grillgap. This completely filled the grill area. I've used the griddle several times now. Actually not used the grate sections! Hamburgers,, sausages, pork chops and steaks... all just like restaurant results. The second best thing I've done to upgrade my BBQ. The first of course was installing grillgrates. Highly recommended.
Wonderful for crispy crust steaks.

I have two of these and have been using them well over a year. They are great for getting that perfect sear on a rare steak. I cook my salmon skin side down on low heat on these and you don’t get that dried out texture. They only rate 4 stars due to the fact that after awhile they bow and all liquids run to the edge immediately and pool. They are easy to clean and would be a wise addition to your grill.

I have been cooking on a regular Grill Grate, no holes, "upside down" to get great sears. This is exactly what I was trying to accomplish. Maillard effect across the WHOLE steak, not just on the grill bars. If you are handy, have a miter saw and a metal cutting blade... you can custom cut as needed. BUT wear safety equipment and be very very careful.

The grategriddle had very rough edging on the cut ends. I haven’t used it yet but I will have to take a file to it before use. No quality control on that part.
Brad here- I will check our deburring. I've been carrying mine around the office as we are filming a lot using the griddle at the moment. Keep an eye out for fun ideas on how to get the most out of your Griddle. I use mine 1-2X a week right now! Sorry the edges were rough- going to check it now.

Transforms the grill into an outstanding griddle surface. My IR thermometer measured about 650F on high heat, so it is excellent for anything from a quick sear to scrambled eggs.
Note: if you plan to cook any thing runny (such as eggs), do not put the griddle on top of your grates. Instead, put them down in the grill and fill in any gaps with GrillGrates.

I ordered on of the griddle sections when I ordered my set of Grill Grates. I have used the griddle to cook some breakfast. BUT, do yourself a favor and order at least two, three would be best. These units are not very wide and my fried taters tended to fall off the side. That is why I ordered 2 more sections. I also wish that there was a small lip of some kind to keep little things like, oh bacon grease from running off into my grill. I had my grill as close to level as I could get it. But the grease started running off the back of the panel and started off a pretty good fire. I am hoping with the added sections this won't be a problem. The big question, are they worth the money, absolutely!!

The GrateGriddle is worth the money just for the fantastic smash burgers I'm able to make with it. Excellent crust and flavor, and cleanup is really a snap. To clean, I use a turner and a pastry knife to scrap the big stuff into a pile, then a wet cloth to finish the clean up. The griddle is seasoning over time and becoming pretty non-stick. I bought a cast iron burger press to quickly and evenly smash the burgers. I can't wait to try other foods on the griddle!
