Eggs over easy with a side of bacon please!  You can grill that will GrillGrates flipped to the flat side.  If you’ve never grilled bacon on the flat-side of GrillGrates you are in for a treat.  Ultra crispy, less greasy and so easy.  So it only took us 10 years to try a fried egg?  WOW between the bacon grease and the grills smoke the eggs have a superb grilled taste!

Ingredients

Servings

Eggs

Thick Cut Bacon

Cavender’s Greek Seasoning (or your favorite for Eggs)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat grill to MEDIUM heat- 400°F. Err to the low side as bacon will burn at temps above 450. Once you dial in bacon your temp is ideal for fried eggs too.

Step 2

Once preheated or even just warm- place bacon strips a few inches apart on the GrillGrates.

Step 3

Turn with tongs or GrateTool every 2-3 minutes- when you see lots of bubbles on the bacon its time to turn.

Step 4

When the bacon is close to your liking just move it together to allow you room for a few fried eggs.

Step 5

Crack eggs onto GrillGrates (the bacon grease is all you need - no spray necessary) and watch how quickly they congeal. Very little egg-white goes through the holes.

Step 6

Season a bit and wait until the egg white is no longer opaque and use a spatula to flip the eggs and cook 1 more minute or so, remove bacon and eggs and serve.

My first use of GrillGrates. Came out perfect. Used frozen potatoes they need to go on first, take 3x as long as other. I used thin bacon it was perfectly cooked. Sunny side up eggs were liquid centers, slight over done bottom, maybe need slight cooler Traeger. T was at 350, spot on outside temp was 20F.

Eggs came out great! Don’t wait too long to flip them though. Bacon cooks fast too but also cooked nicely and no mess!

I have been thinking maybe I can do bacon and eggs on the flat side. I just recently purchased grillgrates. Really looking forward to many great cooks on them. Thanks for the info.
