Grilled French Toast

Our buddy Meathead was the inspiration for this super easy and delicious recipe. We love nothing better than cooking breakfast on the grill over the weekends but French Toast was a new one for us on the grill...

For French Toast
 6 slices 1" thick cut crusty bread
 6 whole eggs
 6 oz whole milk
 1 tsp cinnamon
 1 tsp vanilla
 6 tbsp butter
For Topping
 1 cup grade B real maple syrup
 2 cups chunked fresh fruit and berries


Bring maple syrup to room temp or microwave for 20 seconds.


Preheat grill and griddle to medium heat


In a large mixing bowl whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon and vanilla until thoroughly combined.


Dunk each piece of bread into egg wash mixture for at least 20 seconds until completely saturated. Remove to a platter to transport out to grill.


Place butter on griddle and coat the entire griddle surface. Arrange soaked bread slices on griddle and close grill lid for 3 minutes. Open grill and flip the bread over. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes.


Move French Toast over to GrillGrates for 1 minute. Lift and twist. Grill an additional minute before flipping over. Repeat.


Remove to clean serving platter. Garnish with warm maple syrup and fruit.
