One of the winners chosen from the recipes submitted by our fan base. Mark's Bratwurst is an interesting way to prepare America's favorite sausage. Sauerkraut is stuffed in a split open bratwurst and then the entire thing gets wrapped in bacon before being grilled. This recipe is a perfect foil for game day hunger!

Directions

Slice the brats lengthwise but not all the way through.

Stuff each brat with sauerkraut

Wrap each brat with bacon and secure with toothpick

Preheat grill to medium or about 450 at the GrillGrate surface

Place wrapped brats on grill

Turn frequently keeping an eye on the bacon so it does not burn

Remove from grill once the internal temperature of the brats reaches at least 160F

Place one brat in each bun, you may want to toast the buns first. Top with your favorite spicy mustard.

 6 Bratwurst
 6 Slices Of Bacon
 6 Bratwurst Buns
 8oz Jar Sauerkraut
 Toothpicks soaked in water for 30 minutes
