Take that roast to the next level by putting an overall sear on it with the flat side of your GrillGrates. Nick from Burnt Pellet BBQ makes the most incredible roast beef sandwich with just a few simple ingredients and his GrillGrates.




Favorite Seasoning

Hickory Wood



Worchester Sauce


Salt and Pepper

Beef Broth


Swiss Cheese

Horseradish Mustard


Step 1

Season the roast then put stick meter plus thermometer in the roast to watch internal temperature

Step 2

Light up the grill and put in some hickory wood. Smoke the roast at 225 for an hour

Step 3

In a skillet, put onions, garlic, worchester sauce, butter, salt and pepper, more garlic, and beef broth and mix together.

Step 4

Put mixture that was just created under the roast. Continue smoking the roast until it hits 135 internal temperature.

Step 5

Once roast hits 135 temperature, sear over high heat on the flat side of GrillGrates for a excellent, even sear.

Step 6

Pull off the grill then allow to rest for 20 minutes. Slice up thin pieces of the roast, assemble with toasted bun, beef slices, caramelized onions, swiss cheese, and horseradish mustard.
