Soak wooden skewers in water as early as you can so they do not burn while on the grill (overnight is fine)

Cut smoked sausage into 32 equal sized pieces

Assemble skewers by alternating four pieces of sausage with four pieces of shrimp

Spray with vegetable oil and season with BBQ rub

Grilling Instructions

Preheat grill to medium high (600F)

Place skewers on grill and allow to cook for 5 minutes

Flip skewers over and brush lightly with BBQ sauce

Cook 3-4 more minutes and flip the skewers once more

Brush lightly with BBQ sauce and cook another minute or so allowing the sauce to set on the skewers

Remove to a serving plate and enjoy!

32 medium sized shrimp, peeled and deveined
 1.50 lbs smoked beef sausage
 Your favorite BBQ rub
 Your favorite BBQ sauce
 8 wooden skewers
 Vegetable oil spray

This is a great dish! It is fast to prepare and just as fast to smoke on my Traeger with the fantastic GrillGrates. Not only will we make this again, but did in the first week to perfect the short cook time needed for the shrimp.

We did this with G Hughes BBQ Sauce. I like it because it is not too overwhelming tomato sauce and for me secondarily it is sugar free.
