Profiles of Grate Grilling

May 20, 2020

With most states reopening for business after weeks-long shut downs, we’re reminded how much grilling and family meals together have proven to be a delicious outlet and stress reliever in these difficult times. The pictures we’ve seen and shared on social media are heartwarming and restaurant-worthy.  For those of us who grill all the time, this extra time at home has allowed us to practice our  grill-craft, teach our children and delight our spouses. For us, social media is like getting post cards from happy vacationers. Keep those cards and letters coming!

BBQ BBOY

Beto is a backyard bbq enthusiast and SCA steak competitor from Chicago, IL. His instagram is a repository for not only delicious recipes but beautiful food photography he cooks himself. Beto has been using GrillGrates since 2016 when he outfitted his old 2007 Weber Genesis and brought new life to his grill.  Since then, he has outfitted all his grills including his Kamado Joe & Camp Chef pellet grill with GrillGrates. In 2019 his team won 5th Place at World Food Championships in the steak category using those same Grill Grates.

CODE 3 SPICES

Chris Bohnemeier, a BBQ enthusiast and grill master, teamed up with his friend Mike Radosevich, a Police Officer of 15 years, to create a BBQ competition team located just outside of the St. Louis metropolitan area. Once in the competition circuit, they soon realized that their style of spices were well received in the BBQ community. After teaming up with a local manufacturer to replicate their special blends, Chris and Mike now sell their Rescue Rub, 5-O Rub, Backdraft Rub, Grunt Rub and Sea Dog Rub online and in stores. Not only will you love the flavor, you’ll feel good buying their products, knowing that $0.25 of every bottle sold goes directly to benefit first responders.

Visit them online at Code3Spices.com and on Instagram @Code3Spices.

GRILLGRATE

GrillGrate LLC was founded in 2007 by Brad Barrett of Cartersville, GA. Frustrated by burning, under-cooking, over-cooking and general stress at the grill, he recognized an opportunity.  GrillGrates patented raised rail design over a bottom plate with holes delivers a healthier, more controlled grilling experience with mouthwatering results. 13 years later and Brad isn’t just grilling juicier chicken breast, his dinner plates run the gamut from wild-caught Alaskan Salmon to the finest #BlueCollarWagyu raised in Texas. Above are just a few of the many dishes from Brad’s quarantine days.

Visit the GrillGrate Recipe Section, follow us on Facebook or subscribe to our YouTube channel to see what Brad’s grilling up next.

We hope that you’re able to spend this extra time at your grill, honing your skills and perfecting those recipes. We are looking forward to enjoying the company of our families and friends again. Until then…GrillGrate. Eat Well. Stay Healthy.
